English is the most important language for national, political, and commercial communication; Hindi is the national language and primary tongue of 30% of the people; there are 14 other official languages: Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Oriya, Punjabi, Assamese, Kashmiri, Sindhi, and Sanskrit; Hindustani is a popular variant of Hindi/Urdu spoken widely throughout northern India, but is not an official language.

You can apply for a multiple entry visa with 6 month validity for €50,-. You must enter India within 3 months from the date of issue.Your passport needs to be valid for another 6 months from the day that you leave India.
Een multiple entry visum met een geldigheid van 6 maanden is verkrijgbaar voor €50,-. Na afgifte van het visum moet het binnen 3 maanden gebruikt worden. Binnen een week is het visum klaar.
Bij vertrek uit India dient het paspoort nog minimaal 6 maanden geldig te zijn.
